Scratching Someone's Back

I am proverbally scratching someone's back-their blog back. I'm trying to raise someone's technorati score, so I need to link to their blog from my blog.

In order to not make this completely meaningless for all 3 of my followers. (hee hee) I will pick a post that actually means something to me so that I can blog about it.

Annie, from annieology, made an interesting point in one of her posts about adoption.
She says,

"I am on a mission to eradicate the present tense from adoption language. They either will be (future tense) or were (past tense). Whether they are born or adopted it is a one time event. Once it happens they are members of the family."

I have been exposed to adoption on a personal level in two different ways.

One: My sister Jamie was adopted into her family when she was 10 months old. (She is actually a stepsister, but we really don't use that word {step} in our family.)

Two: Jamie bacame pregnant at a time when it was better that the baby be adopted to a loving family.

I have also babysat for families before, during, and after the adoption process in their family.

I have never thought of adoption in the same way as birth, even though the point she makes is very valid. She brings an interesting point of view to the table of adoption.
