....than the love of food. - George Bernard Shaw
And we followed Joshua's love of food this morning. This morning as I ate my lunch, turkey and mushed avocado on gluten free crackers, Joshua sat in his chair grunting and whining. So I took him out of his chair and sat him in my lap, and what did that boy do?
Lunged. For my plate. So guess what time it is?
I got up, warmed some breastmilk from the freezer, and made Joshua some food.
I had been wanting to wait until he turned six months old on June 30, but I can't see making him wait just because I am not ready. I gave him the first bite, and he grinned and looked so proud of himself. It was just what he wanted. I'm glad I did not wait. He ate about 2 teaspoons of the avocado/breastmilk mix, nursed for just a few minutes and passed out.
And in honor of Memorial Day:
(You are free to laugh at Jakob in his winter clothes in 90 something degree heat. He is his own boy. And that's the way we love him.)
